WoW christmas get togethers

70  Anita and crew from WoW are inviting all women to join them for a pre christmas get together, on Friday 6th December, at Kings Bar, Kings Street Norwich. All welcome!

And at the Drop-in for the last one of the year, we’ll be marking the midwinter Solstice, on 21st December. 1,30-3.30pm, usual place….with nibbles, teas coffees etc and a warm friendly vibe.

The wow phone line will be closed Sat Dec 7th, and closed the week of the 25th-28th Dec…..we will pick up your emails during that week tho, and see you on facebook.

WoW Drop in will be closed on Sat 28th, open again on the 4th Jan 2014.

Candle-lit Vigil 19th Oct

No To Hate Vigil 2013

The 2013 No To Hate Vigil will take place at the bandstand in Chapelfield Gardens, Norwich on Saturday 19th Oct from 7:30 to 8:30pm. The Vigil will include speakers from the Norwich community, musice by the Sing With Pride Choir and a 2 minute silence at 8pm.

Jumble Sale for Choir

Saturday 9th November,2pm
the Phoenix Centre, 132a Mile Cross Rd, Norwich NR3 2LD. The Phoenix Centre is fully wheelchair accessible. The nearest bus stops are on Aylsham Rd or Drayton Rd and there is plenty of on-street parking nearby. You can drop off Jumble at choir practices – Thursday nights at the Vauxhall Centre from 7-9pm or afterwards at Coach and Horses, Union Street, Norwich where the choir retire for a drink. Or Di Cunningham will kindly collect and store. Special guest Shelly Teddy Rach Arkyfox Nobes will be there to entertain the young at heart. Clear out your closets and support Sing with Pride!

Cafe meet-ups/Walks in October

 

For October, there is a  change to the cafe meetings : from Tuesday October 1st. we will meet at 3pm rather than the morning. It will still be every Tuesday at The Greenhouse in Bethel St. – near to the Forum in Norwich. For those who haven’t been before this is an ethical,fully accessible cafe which also has a small shop selling organic stuff,vegetarian food,great cards and secondhand books. We usually sit in the window but always look out for new women even if we’re in the courtyard. Please come for a cuppa and a chat,you’ll be very welcome.

Thu. Oct. 3rd.walk from Buxton

Meet Heather at 11.0am at Bure Valley Railway car park,Stracey Rd.,Buxton.

This is an approx. 3mile walk with a moderate gradient and 90% soft surface ie.wear boots ! ‘A beautiful rural walk overlooking the Bure Valley returning through meadows beside the river.’  We’ll probably find a pub for refreshments afterwards, I usually take a sandwich.

Fri. Oct. 18th.walk from Blakeney to Morston

Meet Heather at Blakeney Quay car park at 10.30 for coffee,11.0 am start of walk. This is a linear walk along the Norfolk Coast Path for 2 -3 miles ,as we decide on the day, then the Coasthopper back to the start. We’ll probably go to Cley NWT Visitor Centre for refreshments afterwards, and/or bring a packed lunch. Again, this could be soggy – but level !

September Walks

 

Here are a couple of walks for September :

Mon.9th.Sep. Blakeney Freshes.

Meet Heather and others at Blakeney Quay carpark at 11.30. If arriving by bus head towards Blakeney village and turn right down the High St.,at the end of this is the quay.

It is a 3m circular walk and mostly flat.Bring a sandwich or we can buy lunch at Cley NWT Visitor Centre.

Sat.21st.Sep. How Hill near Ludham.

Meet Heather and other women in the public car park at 11.00. We will visit Toad Hall Cottage (free) and then go on the wildlife walking trail (£1.50). For those who wish there is a tea room open 2 -5 and the Trust’s Secret Gardens which cost another £3.o0
