Shell has asked us to post this-“This Month’s OUT AT THE MOVIES at Cinema City ,Norwich is a series of short films called “Here Come the Girls” on Thursday 10th December at 8pm. Here’s some info:
Nine up-and-coming and established female filmmakers bring you a refreshing variety of shorts that look at all aspects of lesbian life and love, from contemporary scenarios of mistaken identity and bedroom hang-ups to period pieces concerning secret rendezvous and forbidden relationships. Sobering issues such as racial stereotypes and domestic violence are also touched upon, as are tales of wistful romance and teenage friendships boiling over into sexual desire.
We’ll have live music in the bar at 8pm from multi-talented Maddie Cassell who was a huge hit at the Pride Comedy Night and Pride Picnic in Chapelfield Gardens.
The films will be introduced at 8.30pm by Linda Bellos – best remembered as an activist and leader of Lambeth council in the 1980s, Linda now lives in Norfolk and is a Director of Diversity Solutions Consultancy Ltd.
