NOW Poetry
Vince Laws will lead a monthly poetry group, based in central Norwich, starting on Wednesday 14 April, in the early evening 6pm, and (then every 2nd Wednesday in the month). Vince is a poet and artist, interested in written, visual and performance poetry. He can be contacted at vincelaws@gmail.com.
“I hope as many of you as possible can get to the first meeting on Wednesday night, 6-8pm. We’re meeting at St Margaret’s Church on St Benedict’s Street, because I’m displaying some visual poetry there, so I thought I’d start with a talk on taking poetry off the page, how I started and why, and show some examples. That first hour is open to anyone. 7-8pm we’ll discuss our first project, I am poems (get in touch if you want to have a go, even if you can’t make the meeting, I can email you all the info you need to take part). We are going to consider poems for many voices, read out our own poetry, read other people’s poetry, talk about writing, reading aloud, writing for performance, poster poems, etc, etc. I’ll be at the church from 5.30pm if you get there early. If you get there late, no worries, just slip in and join us. Vince”
