FFLAGG

FFLAGG in Norfolk “acts as a ‘critical friend’ to the Norfolk Constabulary in relation to LGBT issues.Meeting bi-monthly, the group advises the Constabulary on new policies and also highlights problems, and issues that may arise with policing issues.
FFLAGG consists of individuals from statutory bodies such as the NHS, Social Services as well as the Constabulary itself. In addition representatives of voluntary organisations also attend ensuring as wide a representation of the LGBT community as possible.” …from the FFLAGG website, www.FFLAGG.co.uk which also has useful information on homophobia, Gay Liason Officers(GLO’s)and Domestic Violence. Please also contact Wow by email initially, about any of these things, we can help support you through any reporting process(anonymous or otherwise), listen if you are experiencing homophobia or abuse in a relationship, and find other support and info you may want to access.

Celebrating New Beginings

As we move into 2009, Wow wishes you a happy new year.
Here’s hoping good health and energy will be with you through the winter, and that the coming Spring will bring beauty and life to some of those inspired dreams and ideas that we have.
Many thanks to those women who have hosted the drop-ins through last year, and all the other work that goes on in Norfolk. Its been a pleasure to meet so many of you this year, and look forward to perhaps seeing some of you again, and meeting up for the first time with others too.

And, this year sees the first Norwich Pride event! Its all getting a bit exciting, lets make it a good one!Try Norwich Pride 2009 group on facebook, and a website is currently being created.
Other things people would like to see happen are: more getting together with mates, music jam-style evenings, perhaps a bit of drama(should I say “theatre”?) and just being a bit more in touch with people….so let us know any ideas for groups etc, events you’re organising, exhibitions, walks, well…anything else?
Wonder what this year holds! Hope you have a good one.
