Mark Healey, organiser of the Trafalgar Square Vigil, says:

“We are remembering all victims of hate-crime. Harvey Milk said, ‘you have got to give them hope’ and I think that ‘hope’ is what this event is about. Hope that we can work together and put an end to all forms of hate-crime.

“For those unable to attend, in the UK and throughout the world, we are asking that they light their own candles of hope, and observe the two minute silence at 8pm on Saturday October 23. People are invited to take part on-line, by posting photos of their candles on Facebook tagged with the names of those who gather with them. We want to make this a worldwide day of remembrance, hope and action.”

The Cutting Room Returns after all the fun of the Fringe with a very
special event to complement the existing Norwich Pride arrangements.
We cringe into our rainbow themed items to bring you the first ever
Norwich Gay Shame Festival- “Swallow Your Pride”!! Why not come down?
It will be inclusive, if nothing else.
Featuring: An interactive exploration of Gay Shame in the form of a
Workshop by Lesbian Feminist Comedian Hilary Koe. A performance by Gay
Shame Poet Laureate Vince Laws. Luke Fitzgerald discussing his time in
the Gay Liberation Front. And finally, your headline act for the
evening will be the incredible Maddie Cassell with a selection of
songs, sung with shame. Your host for the evening will be Paul
“Everybodys Favourite Fat Hairy Gay” Knight. Feeling Oppressed? You
ain’t seen nothin yet.
So Swallow Your Pride and head on down. £2 on the door.

Join the Norwich Pride Collective for a night of music, comedy, poetry, photography and knitting!

Our hosts Pequlia Bigtopp and Jules Bremner will introduce a superb range of acts including Hannah Brackenbury, Glory Glory, Sean Seraphim, Vince Laws, Maddi Cassell, Silky Diane and Rabo de Foguete.

Yes, we’re looking for real people, proud to wave the rainbow flag and be part of our poster campaign for Norwich Pride. If you’d like to take part – just turn up. Merchandise Matt will be manning the Pride Stall so there’ll be no shortage of rainbow props for you to buy and model.

We’ll also have a stall with Jojo, our Community Team leader, with everything you need to know about LGBT life in Norwich.

Would you like to help create a giant rainbow scarf for Norwich Pride 31st July 2010? Helen of Norwich has arranged a “Knit-In” on Saturday 24th April at Norfolk Yarn Shop (opposite Mecca Bingo on Aylsham Road)in Norwich between 11am and 1pm.
