THE TOPP TWINS: UNTOUCHABLE GIRLS + Skype Q&A

The Topp Twins: Untouchable Girls is the first time that the irrepressible Kiwi entertainment double act, Jools and Lynda Topp’s extraordinary personal story has been told. The film offers a revealing look into the lives of the World’s only comedic, country singing, dancing, and yodeling lesbian twin sisters. As well as rarely seen archive footage and home movies, the film features a series of special interviews with some of the Topp’s infamous comedy alter-egos including candid chats with the two Kens, Camp Mother and Camp Leader, the Bowling Ladies and the Posh Socialite sisters, Prue and Dilly.

After the film, the Twins will be talking to us live via Skype, so have your questions at the ready.

Would you like to take part in a Global Art Project? Would you like to see a fabulous black & white poster of yourself in a street exhibition for LGBT History Month in February? Photographer Antonella Muscat and filmmaker Michelle Savage (Shelly Telly) are bringing international street artist JR’s INSIDE OUT Project to Norwich. They will be at the Castle Pub in Norwich on Saturday 14th January from 2-4pm, taking photos of volunteers.

INSIDE OUT is a large-scale participatory art project that transforms messages of personal identity into pieces of artistic work. Everyone is challenged to use black and white photographic portraits to discover, reveal and share the untold stories and images of people around the world. These digitally uploaded images will be made into posters and sent back to the project’s co-creators for them to exhibit in their own communities. People can participate as an individual or in a group; posters can be placed anywhere, from a solitary image in an office window to a wall of portraits on an abandoned building or a full stadium. These exhibitions will be documented, archived and viewable virtually on the INSIDE OUT website. Why is INSIDE OUT coming to Norwich? Antonella Muscat, a Maltese photographer living in Great Yarmouth, heard about the INSIDE OUT project via TED.com and, working with Norwich filmmaker Michelle Savage (Shelly Telly), decided to focus the local efforts on the Norfolk LGBT community.

We are therefore happy to announce the “INSIDE OUT and Proud!” project, which will be a collection of photographs of people in the LGBT community, and which will be displayed in a street exhibition for LGBT History Month in February.

Antonella and Michelle make no profit from the event, however to create the images via the INSIDE OUT project, the organisation suggests a donation of $20 (£13) from each participate to cover poster printing costs and postage.

We can give you a digital file of the image which is chosen for print.More information about the INSIDE OUT Project can be found at http://www.insideoutproject.net/

Let us know if you would like to be part of this exciting, international project, as soon as possible.

Email shell@shellytelly.co.uk or antonellamuscat@googlemail.com. Please spread the word to anybody who may be interested.

p.s. our definition of “the Norfolk LGBT community” is anyone who identifies as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans or is friend, family or colleague of an LGBT person – basically anyone who comes to Norwich Pride and wants to ensure that we can live in a city where everyone feels safe and proud to be themselves.
